What is a Probate Valuation?
A property valuation for Probate is the value of the deceased persons’ property at the time of their death. More specifically, it is the amount the property is likely to sell for if it was listed for sale on the open market.
Why would you need a Probate Valuation?
The main reason executors and administrators should obtain an official house valuation for probate is the inheritance tax implications. You are under a legal obligation to take care to provide HMRC with accurate valuations of estate property to ensure you pay the right amount of inheritance tax
Alongside our normal Help to Buy Valuations we have been instructed on a number of occasions this month to carry out Probate Valuations in Stroud, Bristol, Cheltenham and Portishead.
